Preparing for the start of the season

Well the rain continues to pour but we continue to try and step up our training in earnest.

A big thank you to the Scottish Endurance for doing the fit to start programme. Expertly run by the PR team this programme has four different classes to suit all levels of fitness.

I opted for class 4 with Mazie, as we had been semi active over the winter and with my sights on our first 30km ride in April I knew we had to get cracking.  The weather has certainly been a challenge, with even the stubble fields resembling a lake at times, but knowing I need to get my weekly data submitted on a Thursday has been a good motivator. We did a 24km training ride yesterday and despite being largely on the road we still managed to manage the minimum speed and its a good indicator that we are fit enough for a 30km.

With one more week of the Fit to start programme to run I have another 15km or so to do so I dearly hope it will dry up!
